Corridor Management Planning
While corridor management plans often follow a familiar framework, the organizations implementing them are anything but one-size-fits-all. Corridor Solutions takes a tailored, collaborative approach to corridor planning, ensuring each plan reflects the unique needs, values, and capacity of the communities and organizations it serves.
We work closely with stakeholders to create practical, actionable plans that support long-term success and meaningful visitor experiences. Whether developing a new plan or evaluating the need for an update, we help byway organizations determine the best path forward.
Visitor Experience Assessments
Online trip-planning information, interpretive content, visitor centers, and wayfinding are among the many elements that play a role in how travelers discover, experience, and remember a place. A high-quality visitor experience is authentic, memorable, and welcoming, and leaves a lasting impression.
Corridor Solutions helps communities and organizations assess these experiences through an objective, field-tested approach. We’ve identified the key elements that shape positive visitor impressions and can provide practical feedback to enhance engagement, satisfaction, and long-term impact. Whether you manage a scenic byway, heritage destination, or community-based tourism initiative, we’ll help you see your visitor experience through fresh eyes.
Byway Program Policy Updates & Training
As state byway programs grow and evolve, so do the challenges of maintaining quality and supporting byways beyond initial designation. Corridor Solutions brings deep expertise in evaluating and updating program policies to reflect current needs, strengthen organizational capacity, and promote long-term success.
We also design and deliver statewide training on byway planning, fundraising, and other topics essential to the sustainability of byway organizations—ensuring that programs remain responsive, effective, and aligned with the communities they serve.
Organization Management & Strategic Planning
Community-based organizations often face unique operational and capacity challenges. Corridor Solutions offers hands-on experience in helping mission-driven groups improve their effectiveness through strategic planning, training, policy development, and organizational evaluation.
We work collaboratively to strengthen internal systems, clarify priorities, and align day-to-day operations with long-term goals, ensuring your organization is well-positioned to lead, adapt, and thrive.
Scenic Byway Designation Nominations
State and national scenic byway designations offer valuable recognition, but preparing a successful nomination requires strategy, clarity, and a deep understanding of the process. Corridor Solutions brings extensive experience in preparing compelling, successful applications for both state scenic byway designation and the National Scenic Byways Program.
Our track record is backed by decades of involvement in developing designation criteria, reviewing applications, and guiding communities through the process from concept to approval.
We help clients develop well-documented, persuasive nominations that clearly establish the significance of a corridor’s intrinsic qualities and unique resources. Our process engages stakeholders, meets all program requirements, and positions your byway for lasting visibility, support, and success.
Fundraising Plans, Grant Writing, & Sponsorship Programs
A clear, actionable fundraising plan is one of the strongest indicators of long-term success. It helps organizations identify the right mix of strategies to support both project-based needs and ongoing operations.
Corridor Solutions develops customized fundraising plans that align with your mission, capacity, and goals. We also design Sponsorship Programs that define compelling opportunities, establish sponsorship levels and benefits, and set realistic annual targets.
We bring extensive experience securing funding through the National Scenic Byways Program, having helped numerous byway organizations develop successful grant applications. Whether you’re launching a new initiative or strengthening an existing effort, we provide the tools, insight, and support to build sustainable financial resources.
Featured Projects
Zion Scenic Byway Corridor Management Plan Update
Corridor Solutions led a comprehensive update of the Zion Scenic Byway CMP, working closely with the Zion Regional Collaborative, local communities, and public land partners, including the National Park Service. This project was grounded in robust community engagement, including public meetings, stakeholder surveys, and a dedicated working group.
The updated CMP responds to the region’s unique tourism management challenges by identifying strategies to support a high-quality, cohesive visitor experience across the full 57-mile route. It emphasizes coordinated interpretation, signage, and stewardship while addressing concerns related to traffic, development pressure, and protecting intrinsic qualities. Designed to reflect community values and prioritize resource protection, the plan positions the corridor to pursue All-American Road designation.
Research Study for the Natchez Trace Compact: Visitor Profile & Experience Enhancement
Corridor Solutions partnered with the Natchez Trace Compact, the official marketing partner for the Natchez Trace Parkway, to develop a detailed Visitor Profile and Experience Enhancement report that explores who visits the Parkway, the activities they enjoy, and the information they value most. Built on traveler survey data, stakeholder interviews, and field research, the report offers actionable insights into traveler demographics, motivations, and informational needs, providing a foundation for strategic tourism planning across the corridor.
To help gateway communities put these findings into action, a supplemental Traveler Information Best Practices Guide was created. This concise, practical resource highlights locally relevant strategies for improving signage, mapping, information access, and community readiness, helping to ensure a more cohesive and satisfying experience for Parkway travelers.
Florida Scenic Highways Program Guidance
Corridor Solutions developed the official program guidance document that continues to shape the operations and designation process of the Florida Scenic Highways Program. Drawing on 12 years of direct support, including seven years as Program Coordinator, Wanda led a collaborative effort with agency staff and stakeholders to craft a clear, actionable policy rooted in both statewide goals and local capacity. The guidance helps bridge the gap between grassroots capacity and program oversight and remains the foundation for program operations today.
As Program Coordinator, Wanda also created the first annual reporting system for Florida’s byways and launched the Florida Scenic Highways Program Annual Report to showcase accomplishments, highlight community benefits, and build ongoing support for Florida byways.

Flaming Gorge–Green River Basin All-American Road: Corridor Management Plan Update
Corridor Solutions developed an update of the Corridor Management Plan (CMP) for Wyoming’s Flaming Gorge–Green River Basin Scenic Byway. The update provides byway leaders with clear direction for the ongoing management of the byway, identifies priority enhancements, and incorporates the critical role of the byway organization. A successful All-American Road nomination was prepared by Corridor Solutions in conjunction with the CMP update.
